So today my foot was particularly painful- henceforth I removed as much weight as possible to send on to our next stop. This time we had agreed on a hotel with air conditioning (and a pool of course) in the large village of Figeac – home to the Rosetta Stone (or at least a copy of it)

Before we departed the Lifesaver bumped her head quite hard on a medieval bar that just happened to be sticking out of a staircase- you need eyes in the back of your head in some of these buildings! The WHS teams from home would be filled with frustration in rural France and Spain.

Anyway our lovely host provided ice and a cloth to wear for the day and the choirmaster assisted with applying the headpiece. We eventually readied ourselves for departure. We left our send on package and headed off into the countryside admiring the architecture of the village and the farm animals and horses we passed by.

It wasn’t too long before we had a call from the local taxi driver to let us know that they were available to pick us up when we were ready. Needless to say the heat had increased and we were ready! We arrived early to the hotel and had to wait a little while before we could relax and visit the town over the river but it was pleasant enjoying a cold drink overlooking the water and we felt very welcome which was a contrast to our bakery rest stop yesterday!

We visited the Rosetta Stone and enjoyed wandering through the narrow streets of this interesting town. It is apparently one of the places many French pilgrims finish a section to return again the following year. It also had an atm which was necessary given the fact that many places require cash in the country side.

I needed a new cable as my recharge regime was too complicated and time consuming. I managed to grab a small card reader but the lead would have to wait.
